Well in 1967 Disneyland opened a ride that today is still one of the most popular rides in the park! Pirates of the Carribean! I was about 6 yrs old on my first ride and I was skeered sh*%&less! But good ole dad made sure the pirates kept their distance!

I live in Southern California, and a local classic rock station (KLOS 95.5) is promoting their pirate private party! they have been giving a family 4 pack of tickets away! I WON! YES! YES! On may 10th at 9pm the party starts and I am going YEAH!!!!! Is there anyone else on this board who lives in SoCal that also won???? Love to find out.... thinking of coming in costume eh eh eh

Although Dickens is about 19th century and Renaissance was 15 to 16th century alot of ren groups do reenactments of the victorian age also!  So this is quite interesting!

 

They are opening up a theme park in chatham england called Dickens world!

This is kind of neeto!  I love Charles Dickens and here in Riverside California they have a dickens Festival in February!

Well, I have 1 week to buy & make new skirts for me and my daughter and new shirts for my hubby & son and I think the son ripped his pants last year so........ I will prolly be sewing ALL NIGHT LONG on the 20th!  I am foregoing making the bodices for daughter and I, and will prolly pull out Lady Visa and charge a couple of new ones!  I also need to purchase a wenchy type hat as my straw one is a lil to "sweet"!  Hubby needs to polish up his saber and we should be ready for PIRATE festival in Corona Ca!
